Classic Gingerbread Men...

Wednesday, 23 December 2015

Here we have it, the last Christmassy baking post of the year, I've loved baking all these Christmas recipes and next year I will defo be doing it again.
If there'e one thing I bake every year its these Gingerbread men. They're so simple to make and they're pretty much a blank canvass so if you're making them with little kids they can decorate and you can bake them. I usually make these with my baby sisters and they love to decorate them.

Christmassy Oat And Cranberry Cookies...

Friday, 18 December 2015

These may look like normal oat and raisin cookies but they have a slight Christmas twist, Cranberries instead of raisins. These are the best cookies I make. they're so chewy and the cranberries make them taste so Christmassy I love them, especially with a hot chocolate.

Gift Guide For Him...

Wednesday, 16 December 2015

Following on with the gift guide theme from my last post, I thought I would put together a little gift guide for the boys. Sometimes shopping for girls can be such an easy task if you like the same things but you can't go and buy a boy a lipstick can you so it can be a little bit more on the tricky side, I know this from personal experience, my boyfriend is the hardest person to buy for in the world!

First up are Candles. This can be a little bit of a hit and miss gift idea to be honest, not all men like candles, my boyfriend isn't a massive fan of them at all but he doesn't mind the more manly a sent. At the moment he's loving the Shearer Amber Noir Candle, it's only about £8 and it smells amazing, it also has such nice packaging.

If the man in your life is a bit of a gamer like mine a Game would be a perfect idea! My boyfriend is a Playstation lover and sometimes I have to peel him away from the TV so he can interact with other humans. At the moment he's obsessed with FIFA 16, he loves football so this would be a perfect addition to his gaming collection if he likes footie too, although they can be a little pricy.

Luxury Gift Guide For Her...

Monday, 14 December 2015

If you're like me, leaving presents to the last minute and then can never think of anything to get anyone, well I've got your backs! I wanted to make a little gift guide, I made a gift guide for Valentines day and I loved it so I thought why not make one for Christmas, following my Christmas themed December posts. These are pretty much all my fave luxury bits that any girl will adore.

So to kick off my little guide for you guys I've got Calvin Klein undies. Getting underwear for that special someone for Christmas is a given really, but although lacy undies are amazing sometimes a girl wants a bit of comfort while still looking beaut. My boyfriend bought bought me some of these Calvin Klein undies when he last went to America and I just love them! They're so comfortable and I don't feel like a slob in them at all. The crop tops are about £28 and the knickers are about £18, they are quite expensive but for the comfort they're so worth it.

Next up MAC make up. Make up in general is always something to think about for a girls gift, but if you're buying for someone and you don't know their skin tone a lipstick is always the way to go. I'm sure all you girls are with me in saying MAC lippies are the bomb, they're so moisturising, even the matte ones leave my lips feeling luscious and for £15 you can't really go wrong especially as some people probably wouldn't spend that much on a lipstick for themselves, so a gift is perfect.

It's defiantly not Christmas without CHOCOLATE. Personally I very rarely eat chocolate so when I do I like it to be something a little bit more luxury and expensive as it's such a treat for me. A cheaper more luxury choc is Lindt Lindor Milk Chocolate Truffles, they're only about £3.50 a box in supermarkets so they're super easy to find and sooo tasty.

5 Reasons Why I Love Christmas...

Friday, 11 December 2015

14 Days till Christmas! If you read my blog regularly you'll know that I'm just plain obsessed with it, everything from decorating the tree to eating my body weight in mince pies, but I thought I would only list a few reasons I love this time of the year because otherwise we would be here for days.

Christmas is basically a time for food lets be honest. As you all know I'm a veggie so finding something for my Christmas dinner that isn't a nut roast isn't aways the easiest but this year my mums surprising me with something so I'm super excited for that. Let alone all the chocolate and cheeseboards there will be.

Now this just goes without saying, I love giving people presents and seeing their faces when they open something I've bought them that they love, especially my two baby sisters, they get way too excited. I obviously love getting pressies too as I love surprises! I've never been the type of kid to go looking for my gifts because I love it when  I have no idea.

Easy Peasy Mince Pies...

Wednesday, 9 December 2015

Is there really anything more Christmassy than a mince pie? I don't think so really, with a bit of Baileys cream is my fave, I've started to make my own but I don't always have time to make my own pastry so this is my quick and easy recipe for home made mince pies, which are soon tasty.

My Christmas Make Up Loves...

Monday, 7 December 2015

When it gets to Christmas time I love to mix up my make up routine a little bit, the basics usually stay the same like foundation and concealer but the more exciting things change like eyeshadow and lips etc.

So this year I've become a little bit obsessed with the red lip look. I'm seriously hoping I get MAC Ruby Woo for christmas but in the mean time I've been using a couple of the Topshop colours. First off I've been loving Topshops Velvet Lips in 'Velveteen Ribbon', the only annoying thing is that they don't actually sell this anymore because I got it last year, so I've been savouring it. These lip velvets are such a perfect matt and they stay on all night long, I don't usually use this with a lip liner because it doesn't really need one, but sure it would still look amazing with one.
The second Topshop lip I've been loving is their Matte Lip Bullet in 'Motel'. I love these lip bullets, they're so easy to apply and they last so long, this is the perfect christmassy red, although it's a matte colour with a bit of clear lip gloss over the top makes it look so shiny and cute.

Next up we have some eyeshadows. I've featured both of these in two different posts before but I'm still so in love with them, starting off with Max Factor Wild Shadow Pot 'Burnt Bark', I featured this in my Autumn Essentials post and I'm still loving it. I like to use this eyeshadow for my crease because I think it makes the perfect shadow and its just so sparky I love it.
The second Eyeshadow love I have this season is my MUA Undress Me Too Palette. This little beauty had its very own post, and again I'm still in love with this bargain beauty. For the Christmas time I love using the sparkliest colours, my favourite ones are the gold and the rose gold colour.
Another sparkly little number is the Topshop glow pot which I featured in a very recent post.

Last but not least we have eyeliner. I'm never really an eyeliner kinda girl, my everyday make up never consists of it, but when it comes to christmas and my eyeshadow is looking on point I sometimes like to throw in a little flick to make it look extra special. At the moment I'm alternating between the Soap and Glory Supercat and the Maybeline Lasting Gel Liner, I usually use the gel liner more just because I think it gives a better more natural look, but if I'm rushing and want a super slick flick the supercar works perfectly.

Those are my favourite Christmas make up bits, what are yours?

Get The Perfect Christmas Nails...

Friday, 4 December 2015

When it comes to nails you all know how much I love my nudes, but at this special time of the year I like to mix it up a little bit and put a bit of colour in my life, although it has to be a Christmassy colour otherwise, whats the point aye.
My favourite colours at the moment are from Barry M, I love their staying power, especially on acrylic nails, I do find that with my acrylics I find it really hard to find nail varnish that doesn't wear away at the ends all the time, but Barry M is my lifesaver.

My first nail colour of choice is Barry M Nail Paint in 'Gold'. This is such a christmassy colour because not only is it a really amazing bright gold its super sparkly. I usually find that with a sparkly gold colour it takes me about 4 layers for it to actually come out gold and look nice, but with this gold I do 2 layers and its perfect.

The other favourite colour of mine is Barry M Gelly Nail Paint in 'Red'. Christmas is literally the only  time I ever wear red nail varnish, it's one of those colours that really don't suit me at any other time of the year, I don't know why but it just doesn't work on me, but for Christmas time it seems to just fit. The shine of this red is so glossy and shiny, sometimes when I use this colour I will paint one of my nails with the gold colour too because I think it just really goes well and is of course, the perfect Christmas combination.

There it is, my fave Christmasy colours, what are your favourite nail colours for this time of the year?

Christmas Shortbread Biscuits...

Wednesday, 2 December 2015

It's officially December and you know what that means... CHRISTMAS! This is by far my favourite time of the year so I thought, what better way to show you all than with a month of Christmas themed posts! Cracking off the month of December with a little cheat treat for you guys, these little shortbreads make for such a nice treat, they also make a great little gift for kids, wrapped up in a cute little christmas bag.

  • 175g Unsalted butter (MUST be at room temperature)
  • 225g Plain flour
  • 60g Caster sugar
  • 1 Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 Tsp Vanilla extract
  • Black food colouring
  • Red Skittles
  • 66g Icing sugar
  • 1 Tbsp milk
  1. Chop up the butter into a bowl. Iv in the flour, sugar, salt and 1 tsp of the vanilla (leave the rest for the icing) and rub all together with your hands to form a ball of dough
  2. Iv some flour onto your workspace where you will roll the biscuits out
  3. Roll out your dough, quite thin but not so much that its going to break when you pick it up, then cut out your shapes. I just used a glass to get a perfect circle
  4. Grease your tray with some butter, or you could use grease proof paper
  5. Put your shapes on the tray and put in the fridge for about 20 mins
  6. While they're chilling, pre heat your oven to 180°
  7. After they've chilled, pop them in the oven and cook for about 8 minutes, or until they're golden brown on the top
  8. Take them out of the oven and cool on a baking tray, in the mean time you can start on making your icing.
  9. For the icing, mix the icing sugar, the rest of the vanilla and the milk in a bow until all combined, super easy and super tasty using milk instead of water
  10. Keep some of this icing in a separate bowl for the noses, but after you've separated it you can mix in the black food colouring
  11. Now the hard part, using a tooth pick because this makes it easy, dip it in the black icing and carefully draw some antlers and some eyes, you can use my images as a guide
  12. Then take another tooth pick and dab some of the white icing and make a little nose, then you can stick on a red skittle as a nose.
  13. Repeat that on all the cookies and leave to dry
  14. ENJOY!
I hope you enjoyed this christmasy recipe, I would love to know what you thought and if you make your own.
