My Must Have Coat!

Saturday, 28 February 2015

Just a short one for you today guys. This post is a bit of a different one for me, I wasn't totally sure about putting a full body image on my blog but I couldn't not post about my amazing coat, and the only way to give it justice was a body photo.

I bought this coat from New Look for about £30 and I honestly couldn't say anything bad about it I love it. If you're like me and a bit on the bigger side I love anything black, I find it so slimming and just perfect to go with anything.
Whenever I go out clubbing I never like taking a coat out with me because the wait for the cloak room is just the longest thing in the world! But when I found this coat it is literally perfect to take on a night out, its not like a real coat, its really thin so you can still wear it on the dance floor! I wore it out to London yesterday and as it was an average day i felt warm enough.

You can literally wear this amazing little black duster coat anywhere you go and it is the perfect addition to anyones wardrobe! You can pick yours up here!

TK MAXX Food Bargains

Thursday, 26 February 2015

I've heard so many people raving about TKMAXX but I've literally never really been in there. So I thought I would venture in just to have a look not to buy anything, but clearly I am unable to do that.
I went into the home section to look for some glasses and pots for my make up brushes, but because i couldn't really find any I looked into the food section.

Cacao Nibs
I've wanted to try these for such a long time but I've never wanted to spend like £14 on a little pack of them. I don't know why they're so expensive but it stresses me out, but when i saw these in there I had to buy them no questions. This is such a massive pot that will honestly last me forever, not only that they were only £5.99!! Cacao Nibs are known to increase your mood so they're perfect in the morning to wake you up, Ive started putting them in smoothies or on my cereal, they're amazing! I would recommend trying them although look for the bargains.

Corn and Quinoa Penne Pasta
I really am not a big fan of pasta, I find it so stodgy and makes me so full when I don't usually like to be very full up. I usually buy gluten free pasta as i find it much lighter. I found this quinoa and corn pasta for only £1.99 so I thought I would try it out!

I didn't realise but they have a really good clean food section for seriously such a good price, I would really recommend having a look in there if you like eating clean like me.

Do you have any good shops for cheap clean food?

Favorite Nail Polishes at the Moment

Tuesday, 24 February 2015

A couple of years ago my nails we're literally nothing to me, I barely even filed them it was that bad. But, ever since I got my first set of acrylic nails they have pretty much been my beauty priority! I have to have my nails at all times, without them I feel totally incomplete.
I love mixing my colours up and making them suit every outfit I wear, and at the moment I'm loving nudes and darker colours.

Topshop Nails in Geography Teacher
I love Topshop nails, they last for so long and always look so glossy and amazing. All the colours in their range are so unique which just make them 10x better.
I bought this colour for £5 in the store maybe last year or the year before so I don't think they sell it anymore which is really depressing because I've nearly run out, I think I have enough for maybe 2 more uses :(.
This colour is literally the perfect colour to match grey, I always paint my nails this colour when I know I'll be wearing a grey t-shirt or something like that, they just compliment each other really well, another bonus is that you only really need to do one coat, so if you're in a rush just as you're about to leave you can just have a quick paint and you're ready to go in 5 minutes, if I have longer i usually do 2 coats just so it stays on a little longer.

O.P.I Nail Lacquer in You're So Van-illa
This is by far my favourite nail varnish ever! (seen here) This is the one I usually take to the nail shop with me to get it painted with first, then the others I will change it to until I get my infills. This is the perfect nude polish to go with any outfit, I usually find an all white or all black outfit makes this colour really stand out. I don't know why but I have always thought I have slightly chubby fingers but when i have a nude colour on my nails they always look much skinnier.
The only downside to this nail colour is that it really does need maybe 3 coats to be really thick enough without it doing that annoying showing your really nail thing, you can get yours here.

Morgan Taylor Nail Polish in Dress Code
If I want to go for something a little on the darker side but not that bad I always go for this light grey colour. This colour is very purply grey which make it a very different and unique colour which you don't tend to find that much.
I love this colour because its a bit similar to the Topshop one because if you're in a rush you only need one coat, but if you do have a bit more time you can do maybe 2 coats and you're ready to go. Another great thing about this polish is that it has one of the rectangular type bushes so its super easy to apply which I always love and makes an excellent time saver, its a little bit pricier than usual nail polishes but so worth the money, you can get yours here.

China Glaze Nail Polish in Concrete Catwalk
Last but not least we have the darkest of my favourite colours. Sometimes I just feel like I need a really dark colour on my nails, I don't know why I just sometimes feel like it's necessary, I don't really like going for a black because I think its just a bit too harsh so I prefer a just off black, so this is the perfect colour. It's a very dark grey and it is so thick so you literally need only one coat and its perfect, you can get yours here.

L'Oréal Paris Skin Perfection Radiance Revealing Gentle Exfoliator

Saturday, 21 February 2015

I have always suffered with bad skin, ever since I was young I have either had spots, dry skin, oily skin, name something that can go wrong with your skin and I've probably had it! I have literally tried every face wash I possibly could to make my skin clear and feeling nice but nothing has been nice enough to keep, then i came across this beauty!
I originally bought another L'Oréal product and they were all buy one get one free, so instead of buying two of the same thing I thought I would try something different and get this. I am so happy i did there is literally nothing bad I can say about this product!

It is so easily affordable, although I did get it for free I will always pay the money to have this product in my skin routine.
Sometimes I find that face washes that are exfoliants are quite harsh on my skin, they always leave it feeling hot, sore or looking really red so I can never apply my make up straight after my bath, but this one isn't like that at all! It is so easy on the skin and leaves it feeling sooo soft, it is by far my favourite thing I have ever used on my skin.

Another thing that i find with other face washes is that they usually leave my skin feeling soft and clear for maybe the first half an hour after I've used it but after that it feels tight and dry and horrible that i have to smother it in moisturiser for it to feel nice again.
With this I don't feel like that at all, once I have used it once it stays leaving my skin feeling so fresh for ages! It literally does what it says on the tin, 'no tight skin feeling' and it really doesn't! Honestly the best product I could ever have used on my skin and I'll never go back to using any other product!

DIY- Marble Side Table

Thursday, 19 February 2015

I've been changing my bedroom around for so long now but I still had this side table that just did not fit in with my rooms decor!
I bought this habitat bedside table years ago but it has never gone with any of my decor. It has this piece of wood in it which comes out and switches to either light or dark wood. So after reading so many of your blog articles on DIY marbling I bought myself some vinyl marble to do my own, its so easy to do that I thought I would share with all you beauties.

Step 1
The first step is a bit of an obvious one, collect all of the things you will need so that you are all ready to go and won't be half way through and think 'I need a pencil' so have to stop what you're doing to look for one, it just makes everything so much easier to just prepare early.
So for this you will need:
- A pencil
- The thing you are wrapping (duh)
- Scissors or a box cutter
- Tape measure or ruler
- The marble vinyl (I bought mine here)

Step 2
Measure the thing you are wrapping, including the sides so you can do some kind of present wrapping technique. Make sure you mark it with the pencil so you know where to cut.

Step 3
Once you've measured, put the thing you are wrapping over it just to make sure it fits properly, I had this problem, I cut it before I checked and had to re-do it. Once you've done that and it fits nicely, cut out along the lines you drew, try and cut as straight as possible.

Step 4
Once you have cut it out and it looks all lovely and ready to fold over, place the thing you're wrapping under the vinyl. Then slowly peal the paper off the bottom and cover evenly, then with the corners pretend you're wrapping a Christmas present, do that trick. I added some sellotape on mine as well because it didn't stick to the wood very well so feel free to do that too (excuse my terrible nails).

And there you have it, it's that easy and looks so cute with my bedroom!

My Lip Care Routine

Tuesday, 17 February 2015

During this season my lips are the worst! The cold weather makes them so dry and sore that i really have to take care of them during the winter. I always have to carry a lip balm with me in my bag at all times, but I also do a little routine before i go to bed and when i wake up just to prepare them for the cold harsh day, it's so easy anyone can do it.

Lush Lip Scrubs
I love Lush lip scrubs, they are literally my saviour! My favourite is the Mint Julips scrub. What i usually do with it is wet the exfoliating glove very lightly, scoop a little of the scrub onto my finger and in circular motions on my lips, you can either eat it (because they taste AMAZING) or you can just wash it off. After you have scrubbed them they feel amazing, so smooth and soft. They're about £5.50, which is a little bit expensive for a little tub but it is so worth it!

Burt's Bees Lip Balm
After I've scrubbed away and my lips feel amazing, I always like to apply some lip balm to keep them feeling fresh throughout the day. My go to lip balm is always the Burt's Bees lip balm, I love this because its completely natural and cruelty free, which I always love. They are full of Vitamin E and honey which is so good on the skin and the lips, and that obviously makes it taste amazing too. You can get these really cheap, only about £3 each or you can get them in gift boxes which make the perfect presents.

My 3 Favourite Concealers

Saturday, 14 February 2015

Wake Me Up Concealer
This concealer is perfect for under eyes and blemishes! I've only just bought this product because I saw so many bloggers raving about it that I had to try it and I am so glad i did, I love this concealer. It's so quick to apply, so is perfect when you're in a rush and just want to put some simple make up on so you don't look like you're out of the 'Walking Dead'.
I got the colour ivory which I find id the perfect colour, because you can put powder over it or foundation over it and it blends so nicely, you can pick this product up in Superdrug for about £5.49.

Maybelline Superstar Better Skin Concealer
This concealer I've found to be perfect for blemishes. I used to use it on everything but I found that under my eyes it was really obvious you had something to cover your bags on. But when I apply it on my blemishes it really covers them and they are totally invisible! So if you're like me and suffer with really bad spots this is honestly perfect to cover them up. I also buy this in the lightest colour for the same reason, I think it blends with powder really well, you can also pick this up in Superdrug for about £5.99.

Sleek Corrector & Concealer Palette
This concealer is the perfect palette for under the eyes, it's not too bad on blemishes or spots but I think its definitely the best for your under eyes. This is a really amazing palette because it has 3 different sections, a light colour, a darker colour and a powder. I don't usually use the powder because I apply my powder on my face straight after so I don't see much point. The two colours really match your skin colour and blends amazingly! You can also pick this up in Superdrug for about £7.99, which is a little pricey but its so worth the money.

Last Minute Valentines Gifts for Her

Wednesday, 11 February 2015

Valentines day is this Saturday so I am a bit excited about that! I've never been a big lover of valentines day as I used to think it was all overpriced and really a bit of a cringe haha, but since having a boyfriend for nearly 2 years I'm starting to enjoy it a little bit more, I love cooking him meals and buying him cute little gifts.

For her
There is so many things you can buy for girls, they're so much easier to buy for than boys, my boyfriend is probably one of the easiest but hardest person to buy for, when it comes to his birthday or Christmas it's a piece of cake but little holidays like this no chance I can think of anything.
A couple of ideas or things i want myself i found were kind of the classic things to buy for valentines.

The first being flowers, there isn't one girl out there that doesn't like flowers, I love them for the look but the smell is just an added bonus. If you're wanting to go down the budget road with flowers Tesco do a really nice Finest range for about £10 for a massive bouquet, from lilies to roses so they have a very wide range, even their non finest range are really nice and smell gorgeous!
If you're looking for a high end variety of flowers and really want to break the bank you can't go wrong with the company Maison Des Fleurs, their flowers are literally so amazing but soooo expensive! They come in a big box, which sounds not that nice but they look so good, head over to their website to have a look for yourself.

Another is chocolates, the ones I've put above are the 'Charbonnel et Walker Marc de Champagne Pink Chocolate Truffles'. I think these make the perfect little gift for Valentines because they look really expensive but they are actually not very expensive at all, you can pick up a box in Lakeland for only £9.99! Although that is a little expensive for 7 chocolates when I tried them I fell in love, they even tasted like a very high end brand.
If you want a more expensive chocolate shop I love Hotel Chocolat. Hotel Chocolat is great because they have such a variety, they cater to vegans, vegetarians, gluten free, diabetics, everything it's the perfect place for chocolate. For one of the valentines boxes is about £25.00 so it still isn't that bad and not to mention they taste AMAZING.

One of the naughtier choices you could buy is underwear. Every girl loves new underwear, especially with some added lace or something that looks sexy. Where I get my sexier underwear from is Topshop, which is the best high street shop I shop in. Some of their underwear is so amazing, they vary with price but the best and most comfortable ones I find are underwire bras, they look so much nicer and sexier than the padded ones I find. They work out on average about £18 a bra and about £4 for the bottoms, the only problem with Topshop is they don't do sizes over a D which is a bit annoying for us bigger women.
Another more high end place to buy underwear which are amazing is Agent Provocateur, their underwear has no other word other than perfect! Every set is so sexy and classy you literally couldn't get any better, they are very pricey, maybe about £95 per bra, but if you really want to look your best its so worth the money.

Jewellery is a very obvious choice for any holiday, all women love a good bit of jewellery. I love Pandora for a cheaper option as they do so much choice. I got a pandora bracelet for my 18th birthday a few years ago and my boyfriend always likes to buy me some of the charms, charms are always an easy but still romantic present. Also they have a wide range of rings which are so cute, the one above is a pandora heart ring which is about £35 I think, the charms can vary with price but i find the average price is about £30.
One of the obvious choices for a more high end brand of jewellery is Tiffany & Co. My sister got an infinity necklace from there for her 18th birthday last year and it is literally the nicest thing, they do a number of different things, from engagement rings for the really romantic gift to a simple bracelet as a little token.

Perfume is such a romantic gift I find, I always love receiving it from my boyfriend. The lower priced shop I've bought perfume from in the past is Zara. All of their perfume smells really expensive and amazing, they have such a variety of smells, and they also small bottles perfect for your handbag, another great thing about their perfume are the bottles, so if you like to have all your bottles on show these really blend in and won't stand out as a cheaper brand.
One of the high end shops to get perfume is Jo Malone. Their perfume smells so amazing, my mum lives by their perfume, I used to steal so much of it that she has actually locked it in her safe to stop me haha. Their bottles are also so pretty especially the one i have featured above.

Last but not least is candles. Every girl out there loves to have a calming bubble bath and maybe light an amazing smelling candle. The cheaper candles I adore are Yankee Candles. Although they are still quite expensive I find it is so worth the money because the smell of them are so beautiful and the variety of smells, you can always find the perfect candle for every occasion.
The last high end shop i love the candles in is The White Company. Their candles smell so citrusy and amazing, these are the perfect bath candle for you or if you're really being romantic on valentines day you and your partner ;). They are quite pricey maybe about £50 a candle but they are sooo worth the price and they last forever.

Huge Lush Haul!

Monday, 9 February 2015

So as you can probably tell I went a littttttle overboard in Lush the other day, but I thought, my student loan can take this hit haha. I love lush because not only does everything smell amazing and natural but because everything is vegan, and as i am a very strong vegetarian its quite hard to find products that look and smell nice while still being vegan. I never have the time to go in there and have a proper look around and a good smell of everything but because i had the time i stocked up.

Twilight Bath Bomb

This little baby i picked up purely because it was pink, but after smelling it my life was made. I heard a lot about how this is a big de-stressing bath bomb, and as at the moment i am feeling very overwhelmed with uni work i thought i would give this a go to try and unwind. They also say on the website that this is a very good one to use if you really want a good nights sleep as the oils and the lavender in it is so calming. So i am really looking forward to using this after a long and stressful day!

Rose Bombshell Bath Bomb

This Rose bath bomb I used to use a lot when i was younger, I used to just always get bought it but haven't for the last few birthdays/Christmas' so i picked it up just to remind me of my younger days haha. This bomb is made with a lot of Turkish oils so it makes your skin sooooooo soft, not only that it smells amazing on your skin and in your bath! It lasts quite a few washes as well as you can break it up and only use a little bit but it still makes your skin so luscious!

Creamy Candy Bubble Bar Slice

I love a good bubble bath, but i can never find a good liquid bubble bath that likes my skin so doesn't dry it out and that smells nice as well. I found this bubble bath bar though and i had to buy it, because everything so far works really nice on my skin. I bought two of these i think as they didn't put a label on the other bag so i think it was the same one. This smells exactly the same as the Snow Fairy shower gel they do at Christmas time and as i ran out of that very recently and they don't sell them any other times of the year i had to buy this beauty. This bar is perfect to soften skin as it had coco butter and almond butter in which makes your skin soooo soft, not only that but the sweet smell perks your mood up and gives you energy so perfect for a morning bath.

Yuzu & Cocoa Bubbleroon

I was actually a bit sceptical about this bubbleroon as I've never tried it before and the middle bit felt kind of greasy but my sister convinced me to buy it because it does smell amazing! On the website it says it contains coconut oil which i love using on my skin because it leaves it feeling so silky smooth i just love it and it also has a lot of citrus oils which are supposedly supposed to perk you up and wake you up so it could be nice in the morning or if you've had a bad day, we will have to see about this one, i will Tweet or Instagram my opinion for you all.

Rose Bubble Bar

I picked this cute little bubble bar up because it looked so cute and smelt so nice and perfect for spring time! They don't have this on their website but when the person in lush saw me looking at it he told me that it contains coco butter so is supposed to be so good on the skin and make it feel so velvety and smell like a sweet little cupcake haha, i can see a pattern emerging here with cocobutter ;). I am very excited to try this one, although it is quite small so will only really be enough for 1 bath :(.

Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar

I actually went into lush specifically to buy this bubble bar as i have seen soooo many people raving about it so i needed to try it for myself. This bar apparently contains an oil called Neroli oil which is supposed to be really good for toning your skin so thats an added bonus, it is also supposed to boost your mood with the smell so again, bad day? Throw this bad boy in the tub and you'll be back to normal.

Space Girl Bath Ballistic

This bath bomb was love at first sight! I actually bought this for my sister for Christmas (hoping she would give me some, she didn't) and she said that she loved it! I knew it smelt amazing but i didn't actually know a lot about it other than it was glittery. It has popping candy inside so when you pop it in the tub it snap crackle and pops all over the place which is funnnnn.
It contains grapefruit which is again a natural mood lifter and also contains almond oils, which of course make your skin silky smooth and naturally tones the skin which is perfect for me.

Avobath Bath Bomb

This bath bomb was a little bit different for me to pick up as i usually go for the pretty pink ones but as soon as i saw the name 'Avo' i rushed over because i LOVE anything related to avocados. They are literally so good for your skin and as it has so much mashed avocado in and olive oil it really tackles dry skin which, during this weather, i am such a big sufferer from its horrible, it also contains lemongrass oil which is a natural antiseptic i thought it would be perfect as i have a lot of blisters at the moment so it could be very helpful with that!

The Comforter Bubble Bar

I saw Tanya Burr's lush haul video and she mentioned this so of course i had to purchase one for myself. It smells amazing! This bubble bar is deco my favourite product from the whole haul no doubt, it looks, smells and works amazingly! It contains loads of oils that are so calming so you can just relax with a book and a candle and just shut yourself away from the world, which sometimes we all need. It is also super sized so will last forever so its so good for how much it is!

Think Pink Bath Bomb

Last but not least we have this cute little bath bomb. I picked this up because obviously it's pink but the little flowers are just so adorable, it is quite small so you could make it last 2 baths but i would say one long bath would be perfect. This bomb contains lavender which is sooo relaxing and again contains the Neroli oil which tones your skin, so for a nice quick, uplifting bath this would be perfect.

January Favourites

Thursday, 5 February 2015

This year is flying by so quickly i don't know what to do with myself. I can't believe I've been blogging for a month nearly, i know it doesn't seem like very long but i never keep anything up so this is a long time for me haha.
I'm doing my first monthly favourites post today and i thought instead just making it beauty related i will add a little bit of food in there too, well one bit, here we go.

Rude Health Almond Milk
I only found this product this month and i am SO glad i did, when i say its like drinking a little bitt of heaven it really is its amazing! Its a bit more expensive than the other almond milks out there but is so worth that extra £1 or so (you can buy here). I love any almond milk and i really should learn how to make my own but for the time being this is my go to buy when buying it. It has such a creamy taste so if you love normal milk because of the creaminess you honestly wouldn't have anything to complain about here, it also doesn't taste really nutty like a lot of the unsweetened versions do! I usually put it with my cereal or in my tea but you can literally do anything with it, bake with it, put it in coffee, in your smoothies, anything. So if you're an almond milk lover like me or even if you're not i would seriously recommend this amazing drink.

MUA Matte Lipstick Fawn Fancy
Now, as you all would know if you've read my Top Lippys post that i am totally obsessed with this lipstick (you can buy here). Everything about it is pretty much perfect, its so creamy, cheap and stays on for so long. This lipstick is £1! Usually i would never pick up such a cheap lipstick as i would just straight away assume it would be a bad product but because i had never worn a nude lipstick before i wanted to try something out that wouldn't make me penniless, so i bought this and my life pretty much changed haha. This lipstick looks exactly like MAC Velvet Teddy but like barely anything whereas theirs is £15. It stays on all day as well which is just an added bonus to the look of it, I just love everything about it.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water
This is by far my favourite make up remover in the world! I usually put it on a cotton pad and wipe it over my face and it gets everything off in a matter of seconds, sometimes i use it twice before washing my face just so it gets rid of everything, which it does!
Everyone was raving about micellar water for so long i had to give in and try it and i am so glad i did, it actually leaves my skin feeling so clean, whereas sometimes i find that using a wipe may be easy but i never feel like my skin is totally clean and fresh. This totally does and its so affordable as well so you don't even have to break the bank to have fresh feeling skin (you can buy here).

Rimmel Fix and Protect Pro Primer
For so many years i wondered why my make up wouldn't stay on for more than an hour, little did i know that primer existed! This primer is so silky smooth on my skin its an actual pleasure to put on (you can buy here), some primers I've used in the past have been quite thick and leave my make up coming out blotchy, especially around my dry patches. This product doesn't do that at all it makes it so smooth and my make up sits on it perfectly and leaves me with no patches what so ever! Big recommendation here.

L'Oreal Miss Manga Mascara
Again if you have read this blog post you would know I'm a little bit obsessed with this mascara. I love it so much, although this is a little bit of a pricey mascara it is so worth the money (you can buy here). My eyelashes have never looked so long unless I'm wearing fake ones, but with this i don't feel like i need to wear any fake eyelashes on a night out which is a lot for me because i am miss stumpy eyelashes over here! It makes them look so natural which is a plus because so many mascaras can make you look like you have spider legs for eyelashes, and you only need 1 coat!

Real Techniques Stippling Brush
Last but not least we have the stippling brush from real techniques. Now i only really found out about Real Techniques this year, which i know is pretty late but i fell in love with them as soon as i saw them. I went on a little bit of a mad one and bought nearly every single one. I don't usually wear foundation so i bought this more for contouring but i thought i would try it with my foundation/bb cream anyway and i loved it! It blends the foundation so well without leaving little lines on my face which quite a lot of foundation brushes do. It is literally the best brush in the world i won't ever stop using it!

White, Black and Grey Wishlist
