Style Icon of the Month: Kylie Jenner

Thursday, 29 January 2015

This 17 year old beauty has been the talk of the town for so long now I thought it was only appropriate that she be my style icon of the month.

Her style is so simple and minimalistic but she makes it look so classy and unique i love it! I really look to her for style inspiration a lot actually, mostly for everyday looks because she loves black like me, my go to colour will always be black (mostly because its slimming haha).

I thought i would focus more on some of my favourite styles from her recently in this little post:

I'm totally in love with this look. Theres something about her that makes wearing something that i would usually wear on a night out an acceptable outfit for the everyday look, and that makes me very jealous. My 2 favourite pieces in this outfit is the hat and the coat, she has complimented the colours so well, camel and baby blue ugh its just amazing, she's also matched this outfit with a nude pair of simple heals which i think make the outfit, i don't think it would look complete in flats, this is just my favourite of her recent looks.

You may think this is a bit of an unusual choice of favourite looks to chose but i actually love it. Its such a casual comfortable outfit but she has somehow made even pyjamas look cute. Grey on grey, perfect, my favourite colour at the moment is grey, i think it just goes with everything and you can make it look classy even if its just a t-shirt and jeans.

The last of my favourite looks from her recent street snaps is this one, my favourite thing about it is the heels! I love over the knee boots at the moment they just make every outfit look sexy but classy at the same time. It upsets me that i can't wear these because my legs are just not the right shape they make me look even more stumpy than i already am haha.

Do you have any style icons? or a favourite look of Kylies?

Liebster Awards

Monday, 26 January 2015

I have been nominated by the wonderful Megan to do this little award challenge thaing.

Rules:
So basically when someone has nominated you you have to answer the 11 questions they have made up, you then tag new bloggers and make up 11 questions for them to answer. You have to pick new bloggers so they can get noticed :) lets get started kids!

1) Do you prefer heels or flats?
Defo heels, they make my legs look skinny and make me look taller, which is a very big deal! (I'm tiny haha)
2) If you could only have one lipstick/lipgloss for the rest of your life, what would it be?
It would have to me MUA 'fawn fancy' lipstick, i LOVE this lippy! But if it was more luxury it would be MAC 'velvet teddy'.

3) What's your favourite holiday destination? Where would you like to go next?
I went to Morocco on a volunteer trip a few years ago which i LOVED! It was so warm and ugh it was just beautiful. I really want to go to Greece this summer i just have to convince my boyfriend haha.

4) Where do you see yourself in 5 years time? This is my dreaded question, i still have no idea what i want to do in the future and I'm already at uni which isn't good :/, all i know is i want to be working in fashion, living with my boyfriend and have a pug.

5) Your favourite piece of clothing now?My boyfriend bought me a stripped shirt dress for christmas from Topshop which i LOVE, i just don't have enough places to wear it :(

6) If you could change something about yourself, what would you change and why?I know everyone says to love yourself, which i agree but I've always had trouble with my weight so if i could change anything i would like to be a bit skinner and fitter.

7) What phone have you got right now and would you like to change it or keep it?At the moment i have an iPhone 5s, i need a new one as this one is starting to die on me so i think i might get the iPhone 6.

8) What is your zodiac sign?Pisces.

9) What is your hair colour history?I could be here for years telling you this so ill just say the most interesting, I've had blue hair, red hair and pink hair, I've also had ombré which was my fave but now i just have simple brown hair.

10) Favourite food?Oh my god, rem i think it might have to be pizza or mushrooms.

11) Are you a dog or cat lover?
I'm deco more of a dog lover, they're so cute i want to squeeze them haha.

I nominate:

Here are your questions:
  1. What is your most prized position?
  2. Who is your style icon and why?
  3. If you were stuck on a desert island what 3 things couldn't you live without?
  4. Who's blog do you religiously check?
  5. Where is your favourite place to shop?
  6. What do you do in your spare time?
  7. If you could do one thing/go one place, what would it be or where? (anything in the world)
  8. Beauty go to after a night out?
  9. Favorite TV show?
  10. Favorite nail colours for this season?
  11. Favorite healthy recipe?
Let me know when you've done it as i'll also like to see what your answers are :)
Enjoy xoxo

Pitta Pizza

This is literally my favourite recipe ever and it's HEALTHY! This is the perfect thing if you've been dieting for what feels like an eternity and you just crave a bit of pizza hut or dominos, it's also much cheaper than a take away.

Recipe (based on one person):
  • Wholemeal pitta bread- 2 slices
  • Tomato pureé/ pizza sauce- 1 tbsp
  • Mozzarella pearls- 5 balls
  • Toppings- use whatever you like i used spinach, onion, mushrooms and a tiny bit of bbq sauce

Method:
  • Pre heat oven/grill to 200°
  • On the Pitta bread spread the tomato pureé evenly over
  • Add the mozzarella pearls on top, you can rip them up so they're evenly spread, but i find they melt enough anyway
  • Add your toppings evenly
  • Cook for about 10-15 mins or until the mozzarella is brown and crispy

Its really that easy and it is sooooooo tasty, you can thank me later ;).
What other recipes would you like to know or any nice healthy recipes you know?

Paul Mitchel Super Skinny Shampoo and Daily Treatment

Thursday, 22 January 2015

I got this shampoo and conditioner set for christmas even though i had never used it before and didn't really know what to expect. My sister was the one who asked for it because she allllways talks about how good it is and how silky it leaves her hair so my dad got me it too to try it out, and it's safe to say I'm VERY glad he did.

I got the bonus bag which was about £18.00 i think so it works out better to buy the set rather than separates as i think the separates are about £11.50 each!

I'm literally in love with this shampoo and conditioner, it leaves my hair so silky smooth, naturally i have major crazy frizzy curly hair i hate it but this treatment just sorts that right out! It makes it smooth, doesn't make it frizzy when i blow dry it i just love everything about it (except the price). Thats the only thing i'm not a fan off is the price, its defiantly more of a gift thing, i cannot afford to buy this everyday, if you can i would totally suggest you do, but as i can't i save it for special occasions haha.

What i think makes this treatment so amazing is that it leaves my hair smooth and soft but without that greasy effect that a lot of shampoos and conditioners can leave. I use it over all of my head whereas my sister only used the conditoner on the bottom of her hair because she has such thick hair she wouldn't be able to put it over her whole head!
I think the bottles are a very reasonable size, i only use mine on special occasions so since i received it i would say I've probably used it about 5-6 times and i still have enough for about 3-4 more washes.

Everything about this treatment is just perfect and i will deco be asking for it for my birthday, christmas and every other occasion people will buy me gifts haha :)

Do you have any 'Luxury' beauty items you would recommend?

Small Beauty Haul

Monday, 19 January 2015

So, as it was payday i decided to give myself a little treat, I've wanted to mix up my make up routine for a while now because i thought it was a little bit 'ehh'. I didn't really know what else to do as I don't really like wearing foundation as it makes my skin sooo bad.
I didn't really know what to do to mix up my daily routine without 'jazzing' myself up too much, so i watched a few tutorials on youtube to see what they were wearing.

The first thing i got was a Real Techniques powder brush which i LOVE, I've actually only just found out about Real Techniques brushes, i know, i'm a bit late on this band wagon haha, but oh my gosh i don't even know how i survived before i had these brushes, i have quite a few of them now but i literally want every single one.

I love these brushes so much because not only are they soo soft but but they spread my make up so nicely i find that they don't leave me with patches at all they're pretty much all round perfect, the powder brush was about £10.99.

Second was some highlighter. I've heard so many things about using highlighter but i was never 100% sure about it, although i don't like looking naturally shiny this doesn't actually make me look shiny its a nice little shimmer.

I bought the MUA (Make Up Academy) highlighter in 'Iridescent Gold', i love it, it was about £3.00 so it was so affordable too. I didn't really want to spend a lot of money on the new make up i was trying out because i didn't really want to get myself into debt and end up not even like the way it looked haha. I put this highlighter in the middle of my nose after I've contoured, just above my cheek bone and on my eyebrow bone and it really does the trick, so when i do need more highlighter i will probably just buy the same product as its affordable and lookes 'Beaut'.
Next wasn't that much of an exciting buy, i ran out of bronzer and instead of buying my usual one i wanted to try something different. I've heard so many good things about Revolution make up so i tried it out, i bought the shimmer highlight bronzer, i like it its very subtle, you know with some bronzers you just look like a wotsit but this is nice.
It was about £4 so its defe worth a buy.
I also bought this Lóréal 'Mega Volume Miss Manga' mascara which i love, it makes my eyelashes so curled and so long, i have naturally short eyebrows and from years of wearing fake eyelashes has not helped at all, this was on offer in Superdrug for about £4.50 i think, I'm not sure how much it usually is but i still would have paid the money because this is just such good mascara.
I bought some blusher which i have NEVER worn in my life so was a little bit of a risk haha but i love it, i put this on after I've contoured just on my cheeks, a very little amount just so i look a little bit more alive. This was also Revolution make up and was £1! I love finding all these bargains it makes me feel so good haha. I bought the colour 'Hot!' which was a little bit darker than the other colours. Love this too.
This was probably one of my favourite buys, its honestly the best powder I've ever used. Its the Max Factor Creme Puff pressed powder in colour 'Nouveau Beige', this is so perfect for my skin its so light but still covers my blemishes perfectly, this was £5.99, so a bit more expensive than the one i usually buy but soooo worth it.
Last but not least i bought a contour kit from Sleek in the shade Light which was £6.49. I've never really contoured before but this pallet makes it so easy, all you do is put a bit on your cheekbones and thats all, i use the highlighter i bought separately as i think this one is just a little bit too dark for a shimmer.

Thats all I've bought this month beauty related but i'm quite happy with my purchases :).
Have you found any bargains recently or have any favourite make up tips?

My Top Lippys

Thursday, 15 January 2015

I have been completely LOVING lipstick recently, I've always liked to wear it to 'jazz' up an outfit but only when i was going out at night or whatever but i never wore it in the day time. Recently though i think it just makes you feel a little bit more alive on those early mornings, especially nudes in my opinion.
Firstly we have the Nudes. This is bar FARRRRR my favourite lipstick I have ever found in my whole lifetime! I literally cannot tell you enough good things about this brand. I would never usually look at MUA (Make Up Academy) as they look like a cheap brand, all of their products look nice but you always think when you look at the price that they're not going to be as good as a mac lipstick for example.

Well I saw this one in colour 'Fawn Fancy' in Superdrug and i wanted to try it out as its very similar to Mac's 'Velvet Teddy', it was £1! £1! and i absolutely love it! Its my favourite nude everyday lipstick and when i compared it to the velvet teddy i literally couldn't tell a difference, not only that but it has the best staying power and its soooo moisturising, I LOVE IT!
I bought this Rimmel lipstick today and i love it just as much as the previous one, the only difference is that this one is a little bit more pricey. This 'Kate Moss' lippy in shade 03 was about £5.50, but even for that price i still think its such a bargain. I bought this shade as its a little bit lighter than the nude i already have, I've only worn this shade once so far ad i only wore it for a couple of hours so I'm not totally sure on the staying power, although saying that, i did go for a meal and at the end of eating it was still perfect and didn't need re-applying, this one is also a bit more moisturising.

So if i were to chose between the two nudes i would still chose the MUA purely because i prefer the colour, and it does help that its only £1.
This colour has always been a little out there for me but i really love it anyway, this is also a Rimmel 'Kate Moss' one in shade 04. I used to apply it straight from the stick but it was a really harsh purple, nearly black, but i have found that applying it with a little brush or a lip brush it comes out sooooo much nicer.

This one was also only £5.50, so if you're into the more different colours i would recommend this but if you're just trying it out for the first time i would go for something a little lighter.
On to the reds, these are also both from Topshop, I've always liked their lipsticks as i find them really moisturising and long lasting. This one was a bullet in the shade 'Joyride' and was about £8.00, this red is a realllllly bright red colour so i usually match it with an all black outfit, because sometimes you just need a little bit of colour in your life hehe, these ones are also matte coloured so they always look so beaut.
This is my last favourite lippy that i own. My boyfriend bought this for me for a christmas present and i absolutely love it, this one was about £10 so its a little bit more pricey than the others but solo worth it! I find these really easy to apply as i don't think you need a lip liner with them, although you can if you would prefer, i just think they're so easy to apply anyway you don't need one.

They are honestly the best matte colour that I've ever tried and they have really good staying power. I love it, one of the best christmas presents i received.

What are your fave lippys? Or any recommendations of ones to buy?

Brows on a Budget

Monday, 12 January 2015

As everyone knows, having amazing eyebrows are the KEY to a full make up look, but for me as I'm sure with everyone else have found it hard over the years to perfect the 'eyebrow look'. For so many years I couldn't get the shape right as I literally had no arch in my brows, so I thought, either spend what, £300 on getting them tattooed or just research my heart out on different things you can do with make up.
When I was in my research stage I came across eyebrow stencils, which have literally SAVED MY LIFE! I used the Chelsea Boutique naturale stencil but you can buy them in a pack of 6 different shapes so you can literally pick your perfect style per occasion. All you have to do is hold them on top of your eyebrows and fill them in with whatever you use on your brows.
For me I use 2 different types of techniques depending on where I'm going, if I'm in a rush I use the creme from the Barry M Shape and Define eyebrow kit first over the stencil, I then fill in the excess and matt them slightly with the powder from the same kit, I fill them in using my Real Techniques shading brush.
The other technique I use when I have slightly more time, this is also my favourite technique so I usually give myself enough time so I'm able to do this one, I use my Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil in black brown to line the brows inside the stencil, i fill them in slightly with the pencil too, i then do the same technique as the first with the powder, just fill in the excess, after all of that work ;) I use the white colour powder in the kit just on my brow bone to really define them.
This is the finished look:

It really is that easy and that cheap to get really defined, arched eyebrows, which i can assure you i did not have before! Infact I will show you what they looked like before I found the stencils, this!!
THEY GIVE ME NIGHTMARES! wayyyy too over plucked!
So i would seriously recomend to anyone who has the same issue as me to get some stencils, they will honestly save your life and you will look FABULOUS!

Product list:
Barry M Shape and Define Eyebrow Kit- £5.99
Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil- £2.99
Chelsea Boutique 6 Pack stencils- £14.00
Real Techniques Shading Brush- £7.99

Do you have any eyebrow tips or tricks?
